Jess Gerber is the newest addition to the Acupuncture for Everyone community. She joined the practice in March of 2009 and is extremely excited to contribute to such a unique and diverse setting.
Jess graduated with a Masters of Science from the New England School of Acupuncture in 2008. As a student, she interned at several acupuncture clinics around the Metro Boston area including Lemuel Shattuck Hospital, Dimock Community Health Center, Roxbury Comprehensive Community Health Center, and Pathways to Wellness. She volunteered as an acupuncture research assistant at the Boston Medical Center. Jess was also selected to give community style acupuncture treatments to participants of the 2008 International AIDS conference in Mexico City. She has studied cancer pain and symptom management with acupuncture at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and has a specific interest in helping people manage chronic conditions with acupuncture.
Jess also has a Masters of Science in Policy, Research and Education in Pain Management from Tufts University Medical School. This degree provided a biomedical complement to her acupuncture training. There is a bio-psycho-social aspect to managing pain and this MS PREP degree enables Jess to comprehensively understand patients that suffer from pain.
In her spare time Jess likes to swim, run, bike, practice yoga, attend concerts and generally enjoys all that living in the Boston area has to offer.
